Riding Profile
Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry is bisected by Highway 401, conveniently connecting the riding to the rest of Canada. The Seaway International Bridge is located within Cornwall and connects the city to the State of New York and the rest of the United States. The riding is also approximately a one hour drive from Ottawa and Montreal, four hours away from Toronto and shares a border with the Province of Québec. The service sector, manufacturing and agriculture are important to the economy of the area. The riding of Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry offers visitors an exciting and memorable area for all to explore. The electoral district of Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry, situated on the banks of the St-Lawrence River, covers 2,765 km
2 in area. The eastern Ontario riding has a population of 99,764 with 75,745 registered voters in 210 polling divisions. The city of Cornwall accounts for about half of the riding population. The rest of the riding is largely rural and includes smaller villages and towns such as Winchester, Chesterville, Iroquois, Crysler, Lancaster, Finch, Morrisburg and the Mohawk Territory part of the Akwesasne Indian Reserve found in Ontario.
