Lauzon Responds to National Victims of Crime Awareness Week

OTTAWA – National Victims of Crime Awareness Week is April 13-19 — this year’s theme is “Finding the Way Together.”

“Canada has come a long way in efforts to increase services for victims of crime,” said MP Guy Lauzon. “This government is committed to progress on victim issues and finding a way together to improve the experience of victims of crime in the criminal justice system.”

The Government of Canada will launch the 2008 National Victims of Crime Awareness Week by hosting an opening ceremony and symposium on Monday, April 14 in Ottawa.

National Victims of Crime Awareness Week is an annual event that seeks to increase public awareness of victim issues, to celebrate those who work to provide services and advocate on behalf of victims, and to send the message to all Canadians that we must work together to address victim issues.
