MP Lauzon Attends Historic Event:

Ottawa – Yesterday Guy Lauzon, Member of Parliament for Stormont-Dundas- South Glengarry attended an historic event on Parliament Hill. Lauzon attended a special Celebration of Mass by the Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, Catholic Archbishop of Ottawa.

Archbishop Prendergast is the first Bishop to celebrate mass in the Sean O’ Sullivan Chapel. The Chapel, located in the historic East Block of the Parliament Buildings was named in honour of the late Father Sean O’Sullivan who resigned as a Member of Parliament to become a Catholic Priest. Father O’Sullivan was elected in 1972 as the Member of Parliament for Hamilton-Wentworth, and at that time was the youngest MP ever elected to the House of Commons at the age of 20.

This historic Mass was attended by a numerous Members of Parliament, Senators and staff including Denis Sabourin, Chief of Staff for Larry Bagnell, MP for the Yukon.
