Lauzon Holding Major Passport Clinic in South Glengarry
March 26, 2009
WILLIAMSTOWN- Guy Lauzon, Member of Parliament for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry recently announced that his office will be hosting a passport clinic on Saturday, April 4th at Char-Lan District High School from 10am-12:30pm. “Having passport clinics on a Saturday morning is more convenient for people in the area. People are often working during the week and can’t make it to Ottawa or Cornwall to drop their applications off. So now they will have the chance to come out on Saturday morning and get it done in one stop,” Lauzon said. “We’ll take your photos, review your application, and mail it to Passport Canada on Monday morning. You should have your passport in less than two weeks delivered right to your house through Canada Post.” “Passport Canada is expecting a huge influx of applications to process this spring, so we want people to come out and get it done now. We’re saying beat the rush- you need to have your passport to drive across the border this June, so it’s best to have it now, rather than scrambling when it’s mandatory” said Eric Duncan, Executive Assistant to Lauzon. Duncan added, “We expect to be busy that morning. We have moved to a bigger location at Char Lan`s gym and will have two photographers and more staff on hand. We expect to process nearly 400 applications in two and a half hours.” Anyone from Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry is welcome to attend. South Glengarry residents will be receiving a flyer soon outlining what you need to bring to the clinic. Also, people are strongly encouraged to visit www.passport.gc.ca and fill out the forms before going to the clinic to save time. For questions about the clinic or what is required to apply, please contact the Cornwall constituency office toll-free at (888) 805-2513. |
