Lauzon Recognizes NDDHS Envirothon Team

OTTAWA - On June 2nd, local Member of Parliament Guy Lauzon recognized students from North Dundas District High School in Question Period for their success in the envirothon competition. The students placed 1st in the local envirothon contest and came second overall in the province of Ontario.

In his statement Mr. Lauzon stated he was “…thrilled to stand in the House and congratulate a group of students from my local community. I am so proud of these students. Our community is fortunate to have youth like them representing us. “

In concluding his statement, Lauzon thanked those who coached the team and wished the students “all the best in their journeys ahead.”

The students had been spending the day on Parliament Hill at Mr. Lauzon’s invitation and observed from the galleries as they were recognized in the chamber. Later on, they were introduced by Lauzon to the Minister of the Environment, the Hon. Jim Prentice, and had the opportunity to discuss their proposal at length with the Minister in a conversation lasting 20 minutes.
